Lunar Gold!

Normally, October brings us Minnesotans cooler and drier air. We revel in this season of fall as the leaves turn to shades of fiery red and brilliant amber prior to letting go of their trees to their final resting place upon the forest floor.

But I'm not writing to discuss fall colors! No, I'm commenting on our incredible weather as of late. Instead of the usual 60 degree weather, we've had a record-breaking string of sunny 80+ degree days.

The benefit of this weather has been my ability to photograph the phases of the Harvest Moon cycle.

My first moon capture was the sliver of a crescent moon.

Since then, every night I've been out on the sidewalk capturing the moon as it grows ever so closer to the Harvest Moon.
